Rolling 40 year rule for exemption from Vehicle Excise Duty (Road Tax).

From 1st April this year vehicles manufactured in 1977 became eligible for Free road tax.
Note it is the date of manufacture that is used not date of first registration.
This means a vehicle first registered on say 5th February 1978 would be eligible if the owner could prove (from say a dating certificate) that the vehicle was manufactured in 1977
